Nigeria vs Guinea live streaming: Match preview

The Super Eagles are off to a winning start.

It looked like they were going to be frustrated by Burundi on Saturday in a fairly even match in Alexandria.

It was Burundi who had the better of the first half chances, even hitting the post at one point.

In the second half though, Nigeria changed things around a bit and it really worked for them.

Gernot Rohr started with a front four of Samuel Chukwueze, John Obi Mikel and Alex Iwobi behind Victor Osimhen.

However, after the interval he changed it with Chukwueze still on the right but Iwobi moving into the number ten role, Ahmed Musa on the left and Odion Ighalo up front.

It worked perfectly.

Just three minutes after Ighalo came on, he was played in by Ola Aina’s sublime back-heal and Ighalo did the rest, finishing deliciously.

The Shànghǎi Shēnhuā forward was the top scorer in qualifying but that’s his first goal at a major tournament.

Nigeria have got to the semi-finals or further in 14 of the last 16 AFCONs they have qualified for and are expected to go all the way again.

Will they make it two wins out for two here?

Guinea meanwhile were left frustrated after their match with tournament debutants Madagascar on Saturday.

Syli Nationale were 1-0 up at half time, and deservedly so, when Sory Kaba beat the offside trap, rounded the keeper and applied the finishing touches.

However, in the blink of an eye, they were behind.

Madagascar equalised in the fourth minute of the second half before taking the lead just six minutes later.

Paul Put will be furious with his side’s defending on both goals.

However, his team were able to salvage a draw.

Ibrahima Traoré raced through but was tripped over in the penalty area.

François Kamano converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way, and 2-2 it finished.

Despite that comeback, Nigeria’s quality should see them to a win here.
